The trainers

Shannon Stowe

Shannon is a New School graduate has been teaching dance for Athletics and Recreation since the program began in 2009.  Prior to that, she taught dance based fitness classes for ten years in California.  Shannon teaches many forms of dance. When you come to her Dance Fitness classes, you will get a little ballet, jazz, hip-hop, street jazz, musical theatre, and modern.  She is also an AFAA certified group-fitness instructor and an ACE certified personal trainer.  In addition to all that dance, Shannon enjoys exercising her hardcore side and teaches boot-camp and various sculpt and strength training  classes.  As a personal trainer, Shannon loves to work with body weight exercise and HIIT (high-intensity interval training).  Her fitness philosophy is all about creating a balanced body, combining strength, balance, and flexibility with a sense of enjoyment and the experience of fitness through conscious movement.

Irisha Brown

You must purchase your sessions prior to redeeming them, but feel free to reach out to our trainers to get a sense of who you’d like to train with and who would fit best with your availability.

NOTE: each client must sign-up through marketplace and pay for themselves.  It is up to the clients to form their own pairs and/or groups, otherwise they will be training privately, at the private rate.

Once you paid, reach out to your trainer Shannon or Irisha to schedule your session(s). If you are unsure which trainer to use, please contact recreation@newschool.edu and let us know your goals and availability.
