The New School Athletics & Recreation offers many opportunities for students to become physically active and socially engaged while building community across the university.

Programs and events are offered to students at all levels of experience, ability, knowledge, and interest.

We also provide leadership and professional development to our student staff.

What we stand for

Throughout the academic year, the department hosts weekly group fitness programs, intramural team sports, outdoor adventures, and special events. In addition, The New School now supports three Club Sports teams: Men’s Basketball, Co-Ed Cross Country, and Men's Soccer. Through participation in recreational activities, students develop important skills such as teamwork, time management, and networking. Note: many events are also open to New School faculty and staff.
