It was a sunny Saturday morning on New York’s Upper West Side. At 75 degrees, the day was perfect for being outside and taking part in outdoor activities. As part of The New School’s Athletics and Recreation department’s Summer 2017 Outdoor Adventures, a group of ten New School students enjoyed a two hour bike ride in Central Park. They were led by two Athletics and Recreation employees who are also students.
Underneath warm, much needed sunlight which lacked this Winter, students enjoyed cruising through the scenic bike routes of the park. They cycled past tourists from all over the world, horse-drawn carriages, Bethesda Fountain, and much more. Although not entirely easy (some hills are quite steep!), bike riding through Central Park proved both physically and socially rewarding. It allowed for the students to engage with one another while enjoying one of New York City’s most famous landmarks. The Athletics and Recreation department will be having more Outdoor Adventures this Summer, which can be found below. All are welcome, and have a good Summer!
