Narwhals downed by SHU in 5-2 decision

STONY BROOK, NY – The New School Narwhals (0-1-2) started conference play in the New York Metro Club League on September 17th 2016 against a decent Seton Hall University Club Team. The Narwhals dropped the decider 5-2.

In a hard fought first half, the Narwhals were competitive against a strong side. The New School were their own enemies for the majority of the game when individual errors cost goals against. After trailing 1-0, the Narwhals tied the game after a long kick from stopper Andres Domit was latched onto by tall center forward Samuel Vickars who beat the defender for pace and a smart finish at the near post. This was Vickars first goal for the Narwhals this season.

The Narwhals were down 3-1 early in the second half with more defensive errors leading to goals. Smart interplay in the final third of the Seton Hall half brought about a smart pass by Kenan Massicott with his first assist of the season, the play finished by captain Dashiell Fellner in the far corner of the net. At 3-2 the Narwhals were back in the contest. However, two more SHU goals turned the decision in their favor.

The Narwhals are back in conference play action against Stony Brook University later in the day on September 17th looking to pick up their first points in conference play.
